A recent report by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has revealed a significant increase in full-time course fees for international students in Victorian schools in 2024.
According to the data, these fees have risen by 27.5% compared to 2023.
The ABS also reported that full-time course fees for all international students across Australian schools have increased by 23.4% from the previous year.
In 2019, the number of international students paying full-time course fees was 26,593, but due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, this number dropped by 41.9% to 15,461 in 2022.
Mel Plumb, Head of Statistics at the ABS, stated that the decline was a direct result of the pandemic but noted that the situation is now returning to normal.
