Numerous electronic devices and thousands of images linked to the surviving alleged Bondi Beach attacker are being examined as he faces a fresh wave of criminal charges.
Naveed Akram appeared in Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court, where he was charged with 19 additional offences as part of an expanding prosecution case.
Prosecutors said investigators have been reviewing around 230,000 CCTV images as they build evidence related to the case, which stems from the alleged attack on a Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach on 14 December that left 15 people dead and dozens injured.
Akram, who is already facing dozens of serious charges including terrorism-related offences, remains in custody as authorities continue analysing a large volume of digital evidence and material linked to multiple devices and individuals associated with the case.
The matter has been adjourned to allow investigators more time to process the extensive evidence, with the court acknowledging the complexity and scale of the ongoing counter-terrorism investigation.
