The Atamasthana Committee has decided to temporarily appoint the Chief Sanghanayaka of the North Central Province and Chief Incumbent of the Ruwanwelisaya Maha Seya, Most Venerable Ethalawetunuwewe Gnanathilaka Thero, to perform the duties of the Atamasthanadhipathi.
The decision was announced by the Malwathu Maha Viharaya and will remain in effect until ongoing court proceedings involving the Chief Sanghanayaka of Nuwara Kalaviya, Most Venerable Pallegama Hemarathana Nayake Thero, are concluded.
According to the Malwathu Chapter, the temporary appointment will continue until a final determination is made regarding the allegations against Hemarathana Nayake Thero.
The statement confirming the appointment was issued under the signature of the Registrar of the Malwathu Chapter, Most Venerable Dr. Pahamune Sumangala Nayaka Thero.
