Nepal pledges USD 200,000 in flood relief aid to Sri Lanka

The Government of Nepal has expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with Sri Lanka following the recent devastating floods that claimed numerous lives and caused widespread destruction across the country.

In an official statement, Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to those injured. The statement also reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment to stand with Sri Lanka during this difficult period, highlighting the strong bilateral ties between the two nations.

As a gesture of support, Nepal announced an assistance package of USD 200,000 (approximately Rs. 66 million) to aid relief and recovery efforts in the flood-affected areas.

“The Government and people of Nepal remain confident in the resilience and strength of the people of Sri Lanka as they recover and rebuild from this tragedy,” the statement added.
