The National Election Commission has announced that the list of additional members for the 2025 local government elections will be sent to the Government Printing Office for official Gazette publication.
Commissioner General of Elections Saman Sri Ratnayake stated that the deadline for political parties and independent groups to submit their additional member nominations ended at midnight yesterday.
He confirmed that political parties have submitted nominations for the posts of Chairman, Mayor, and Deputy Mayor in 161 local government institutions.
The 2025 local government elections were conducted on 6th of May
The publication of the additional member list marks the final administrative step in concluding the election process.
