Nearly 3,000 Range Rover Evoque vehicles manufactured between 2020 and 2024 are being recalled in Australia due to a serious airbag defect.

The recall notice issued by Land Rover states that a manufacturing fault may cause the passenger airbag to tear during deployment.

This defect could result in hot gases escaping from the airbag and reduce its effectiveness, potentially failing to protect the passenger in the event of a crash.

If the airbag does not deploy properly and hot gases are released toward the occupants, it could increase the risk of injury or even death.

Owners of the affected vehicles are advised to contact Jaguar Land Rover immediately to schedule a free replacement of the passenger airbag.

Over 2,800 vehicles are affected by the recall, and a list of the relevant vehicle identification numbers can be found on the Department of Transport website.
