The National Youth Conference is being held this morning under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, marking the event’s return after a hiatus of 32 years.
According to Supun Wijerathna, Chairman of the National Youth Services Council, the conference is taking place at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium with the participation of over 6,000 youth representatives from across the island.
In preparation for the national gathering, youth clubs were formed at the regional level, laying the foundation for a nationwide youth network aimed at empowering young leaders and strengthening youth participation in national development.
