The central government of India is making significant efforts to support the recovery and upliftment of Sri Lanka’s economy, Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa said.
Speaking to an Indian media outlet, MP Rajapaksa praised the Modi administration for the assistance extended to Sri Lanka and urged South Indian politicians to view the country with an open and positive mindset.
Meanwhile, MP Rajapaksa extended his best wishes to Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam leader and popular Tamil actor Vijay as he enters active politics. Commending Vijay’s cinematic career, he said the film industry would miss his vibrancy and energy, while wishing him success in his new political journey.
Although he acknowledged differences of opinion on certain issues, the Parliamentarian emphasised the importance of young and dynamic leaders joining active politics in the region.
MP Namal Rajapaksa further called on Vijay and other South Indian political leaders to look at Sri Lanka positively and support efforts to uplift the upcountry Tamil community.
