

The Colombo High Court has fixed July 7, 2026, for the commencement of the trial in the case filed against MP Namal Rajapaksa over the controversial Krrish transaction.

The case, instituted by the Attorney General, was taken up before the Colombo High Court today, where the pre-trial conference was concluded.
Following the completion of preliminary proceedings, the High Court ordered that the matter be called for trial in July.
According to the Attorney General, Namal Rajapaksa is accused of committing criminal breach of trust by obtaining Rs. 70 million from the Indian Krrish company.
The prosecution alleges that the funds were received on the basis that they would be used to promote rugby in Sri Lanka.
