Namal Rajapaksa, a Member of Parliament from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), extended his congratulations to Indian actor-turned-politician C. Joseph Vijay following his victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Election 2026.
In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Namal described Vijay’s win as “resounding” and wished him and his team the strength to overcome challenges and deliver meaningful benefits to the people.
He also expressed hope for a stronger and more positive relationship between Sri Lanka and India, particularly on matters affecting citizens of both nations.
“My very best wishes to you and your team,” Namal added, while tagging Vijay’s official account.
The message follows Vijay’s electoral success, with his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), emerging as the largest party in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Election 2026.
