Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa today accused the government of imposing severe repression on state sector employees and urged the public to remain patient during what he described as a difficult period.
Speaking to the media after paying homage at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy, Rajapaksa alleged that the Sri Lanka Police has become “completely politicised,” warning that this has contributed to a deterioration in national security.
He further claimed that people are experiencing serious hardship due to the heavy tax burden imposed by the government.
Rajapaksa said the SLPP is ready to stand up for the public and called on all those who believe they have been treated unfairly to join the party’s rally in Nugegoda on 21st of November .
