Nalinda says Harsha undermining himself by opposing government’s Suwa Seriya development efforts

Health Minister Nalinda Jayatissa stated in Parliament that MP Harsha de Silva is “harming his own self” by opposing the government’s efforts to enhance the Suwa Seriya ambulance service in line with global healthcare standards.

Responding to concerns raised by MP de Silva, who claimed that the colour and logo of Suwa Seriya had been changed, Minister Jayatissa said the government’s goal is to modernize and expand the service while preserving its core identity.

MP de Silva had pointed out that the new letterhead now reads “Sri Lanka Emergency Ambulance Service,” with “Suwa Seriya” appearing in smaller letters beneath. He also clarified that Suwa Seriya is a pre-hospital emergency care service, not a first-aid provider.

In reply, Minister Jayatissa said those who initiated such projects should take pride when they are upgraded and continued in line with international trends. He further assured that the logo, colour, and branding of Suwa Seriya would remain unchanged despite ongoing developments.
