Minister of Health Nalinda Jayatissa recently visited and inspected two major pharmaceutical manufacturing companies in Sri Lanka — Kelun LifeScience (Pvt) Ltd and Celagen Lanka (Pvt) Ltd — located in the Pallekele Investment Zone in Kandy.
These companies produce nearly 400 types of medicines and are the only pharmaceutical manufacturers in Sri Lanka to have obtained the European Union’s Good Manufacturing Practice certification, known as EU GMP (European Union Good Manufacturing Practice).
Kelun LifeScience (Pvt) Ltd also operates as one of the country’s largest producers of saline solutions. During the visit, Minister Nalinda Jayatissa reviewed the pharmaceutical manufacturing processes at both facilities to ensure they comply with national and international quality management standards.
