Mystery Adelaide resident becomes $20 million richer overnight

Someone in Adelaide has ended the year $20 million richer and may not even know it yet after winning last night’s Powerball jackpot.

The mystery ticket holder secured the only Division One winning entry in the Christmas Day Powerball draw held across Australia. The prize is equal to the largest lottery win recorded in South Australia this year.

Officials from The Lott said they are still waiting for the winner to check their ticket and come forward. The winning ticket was purchased at the Colonnades Lotto Kiosk on Beach Road at the Noarlunga Centre.

The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said he hopes the winner will soon realise their good fortune and claim the prize. “Our elusive winner is likely oblivious to the fact they became a multi-millionaire on Christmas Day,” he said.

He urged anyone who bought a Powerball ticket from the Colonnades Lotto Kiosk to check their tickets immediately, noting how life-changing such a discovery could be. Winners are advised to contact The Lott on 131 868 to begin the prize claim process.

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1545 were 7, 11, 16, 17, 20, 23 and 29, with the Powerball number also being 17.

The South Australian ticket was the only Division One winner in draw 1545. The Lott’s total Division One winners for the year has now reached 419, including 36 wins by South Australia Lotteries customers.
