Reuters reported an explosion in the Qatara neighborhood of Doha, the capital of Qatar. Shortly afterward, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that strikes had been carried out in the city targeting Hamas leadership.
According to the IDF and the Shin Bet security agency, the strike was aimed at senior Hamas leaders who have been directing the group’s activities for years.
The military stated that these leaders were directly responsible for the October 7 massacre and for coordinating the ongoing war against Israel.
