Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath, as Chair of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA), presided over the 24th Council of Ministers Meeting.
In his address, Minister Herath reaffirmed Sri Lanka’s strong commitment to fostering peace, security, and sustainable prosperity across the Indian Ocean region.
He highlighted that these goals can be achieved through ongoing dialogue, mutual respect, and joint efforts among IORA member states.
Sri Lanka currently holds the Chairmanship of IORA, a key regional body that unites Indian Ocean-bordering nations to enhance maritime cooperation and regional integration.
