Melbourne’s Housing Crisis: A Response and Solution

A new apartment complex has opened for tenants in Melbourne, Victoria, as part of a government housing initiative.

This project is designed to assist long-term renters under the “Build to Rent” scheme, introduced by the federal government.

Australian Housing Minister Clare O’Neill attended the opening to observe the launch of the first complex under this program.

Located in the Southbank suburb of Melbourne, the complex features amenities such as a sauna, gym, and business centre.

A dedicated on-site maintenance department has also been established for repairs and upkeep.

The housing model is inspired by similar schemes in the United Kingdom and the United States.
