A 34-year-old man from Lynbrook, Melbourne, has been arrested for attempting to bulk port 86 mobile phone numbers to another provider.
The crime took place in July last year, with the suspect making 193 attempts to transfer the numbers.
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) found that he successfully ported 44 of the 86 numbers without the owners’ permission.
Authorities are now working to record statements from the affected individuals.
If convicted, the suspect could face up to 10 years in prison for his actions.
