Australians have a unique opportunity to contribute to national security by supporting the Australian Border Force (ABF) Detector Dog program.
Residents of Melbourne and Geelong are being invited to temporarily care for Labrador Retriever puppies, around nine weeks old, as part of their early training.
This fosters their ability to interact with people, animals, and different environments.
The ABF will cover all costs, including food, medical care, and other necessities during the fostering period.
Once trained, these dogs will be deployed in key locations such as ships, airports, ports, warehouses, and postal centers to detect illegal drugs, weapons, explosives, and cash.
