

Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath has invited Victorian investors to explore emerging opportunities in Port City Colombo, describing it as a key gateway for trade, investment, and infrastructure development.

He also urged the Victorian government to actively promote Sri Lanka as a safe, attractive, and promising tourism destination.
The remarks were made during the Sri Lanka–Victoria Industry Roundtable hosted by Global Victoria at the Victorian Investment Centre in Melbourne, with participation from senior officials including Danni Jarrett, Deputy Secretary for Industry, Trade and Investment.
In a post on X, the Minister said the discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Sri Lanka and Victoria in trade, investment, tourism, and education.
High-level Australian business representatives from sectors such as aviation, infrastructure, education, sport, and tourism also took part in the dialogue.
