Melbourne’s Indian community is preparing a spectacular cultural celebration ahead of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Australia.

Modi will visit Australia from July 8 to 10 for the Australia–India Annual Leaders’ Summit with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Thousands are expected to attend the sold-out “Melbourne Meets Modi” event at Marvel Stadium on Thursday.

The program will feature colourful dance, music, and performances celebrating the diversity of the Indian-Australian community.

The visit is expected to strengthen cooperation in trade, education, defence, and people-to-people ties between Australia and India.

For many in Melbourne’s Indian diaspora, the event is being hailed as a historic celebration of friendship between the two nations.
