A Melbourne father, Abraham Khoury, is outraged after discovering that alleged paedophile Joshua Brown worked at his daughter’s childcare centre, yet the facility was not listed in the official police investigation.
Khoury found out that Brown was present at Milestones Early Learning Centre in Greensborough on December 5, 2024, and had been photographed sitting next to his daughter.
The alarming discovery was made by a vigilant parent who spotted Brown in a photo shared through the centre’s communication app.
Khoury expressed deep frustration, saying parents were kept completely in the dark and had received no information or warning from the childcare centre.
“You’re angry, you’ve been lied to, you feel gross,” Khoury said, adding that he was forced to get his daughter tested for sexually transmitted diseases.
Despite attempts to contact the Milestones Early Learning Centre, which is owned by the Affinity group, Khoury has received no response.
The centre has not been officially acknowledged in the list of locations connected to the police investigation into Brown’s employment.
Police say they are still reviewing documents from centres across Victoria to confirm the 26-year-old’s full work history.
Victorian Police Minister Anthony Carbines encouraged the public to continue providing any relevant information to assist the investigation.
In response to the scandal, one childcare operator proposed banning male staff from changing nappies, though experts have warned against such reactive measures.
Nesha Hutchinson of the Australian Childcare Alliance stressed the need for national-level reforms to improve safety without unfairly targeting staff.
Khoury insisted more must be done: “There needs to be reform, there needs to be cameras, there needs to be just more, because right now, it’s the bare minimum.”
