Yesterday, an allegation was publicized by a Sri Lankan regarding a lack of response from the Melbourne Consulate when seeking employment. In response, we inquired with Aruna Devendra, the Consul at the Melbourne office.
When asked about the delay in processing a passport after six months, Consul Devendra explained that the individual, Janaka, who made the accusation, had submitted the necessary applications four months ago.
He clarified that the applications were completed and paid for by 8th of August.
Furthermore, Consul Devendra confirmed that the applications were promptly forwarded to the Colombo Immigration Department by 15th of August.
He reiterated that there had been no delays on the consulate’s end.
The consulate remains committed to providing efficient and friendly services, with no prior complaints reported.
