Mega ICC hall of fame induction ceremony set for Monday in London

The International Cricket Council (ICC) will induct seven legendary cricketers into the ICC Hall of Fame during a grand ceremony in London on Monday 9th of June .

This significant event, described as one of the most notable inductions since 2009, will honour five men and two women from six different countries for their outstanding contributions to the sport.

Titled ‘A Day with the Legends’, the ceremony will be broadcast live globally via ICC’s partner networks, offering fans worldwide the chance to witness the historic moment. Each inductee, selected by a panel comprising current Hall of Famers, media, and ICC officials, will receive a commemorative cap.

The event begins at 4:30 PM British Standard Time and also acts as a prelude to the ICC World Test Championship Final between South Africa and Australia, scheduled to be held at Lord’s from June 11–15. Captains Temba Bavuma and Pat Cummins will offer their pre-match insights during the program.

ICC Chairman Jay Shah emphasized that the Hall of Fame celebrates players who have made a lasting impact on the game. He said, “This accolade is reserved exclusively for those whose achievements have left an indelible mark on the sport.”

The ICC Hall of Fame, established in 2009 in partnership with the World Cricketers Association, honours legends five years after their international retirement. The last induction took place in October 2024, recognising Alastair Cook, AB de Villiers, and Neetu David.

The ceremony will be aired on platforms including JioHotstar (India), Sky Sports (UK), Amazon Prime Video (Australia), SuperSport (Africa), and many others, and will also stream on icc.tv for global audiences.
