A tourist resort under construction in the Kandekumbura area of Ella was completely destroyed by a fire, according to police reports.
The blaze spread rapidly across the site, fueled by dry weather and strong winds, resulting in extensive damage and the total destruction of the structure.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
Firefighters from the Bandarawela Fire Department, along with police and forest conservation officers, managed to bring the fire under control after a joint effort.
Ella Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
