A 27-year-old man allegedly armed with a knife was seriously injured after being shot by police outside a shopping complex in Logan Central, south of Brisbane.
Police responded to reports on Ewing Road just before 6 p.m. that a man was threatening members of the public with a weapon. When officers attempted to engage with him, he allegedly approached them while armed, prompting police to open fire.
Officers administered first aid at the scene before the man was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
No other injuries were reported during the incident. Authorities have declared a crime scene, and investigations are being carried out by the Ethical Standards Command and the Crime and Corruption Commission.
