The Deputy Speaker of the Maldives, along with five Maldivian ministers, held bilateral discussions with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake yesterday (29th) at the ‘Kurumba Maldives’ resort, according to the President’s Media Division (PMD).

The meeting was attended by Deputy Speaker Ahmed Nazim; Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdulla Khaleel; Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed; Minister of Defence Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon; Minister of Finance and Planning Moosa Zameer; and Minister of Home Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan.

During the discussions, the Maldivian delegation expressed their gratitude to President Dissanayake for undertaking the state visit and conveyed their optimism that the visit—held in celebration of 60 years of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and the Maldives—would pave the way for stronger bilateral cooperation and mutual understanding.

Sri Lanka’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, Vijitha Herath, along with several senior government officials, also took part in the high-level talks.
