The Government of the Maldives has announced that Sri Lankan citizens visiting the Maldives for tourism will now be eligible for a free 90-day on-arrival visa.
According to the President’s Media Division (PMD), the announcement coincided with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s state visit to the Maldives.
This visa facility will be effective from July 29, 2025. To obtain it, travellers must present a valid passport and proof of sufficient funds to support their stay.
The initiative is part of a bilateral agreement on visa facilitation between the two nations and aligns with Maldivian immigration laws.
The Maldivian Government stated that the move reflects its commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation with Sri Lanka.
