Deputy Minister Mahinda Jayasinghe has questioned the reaction of SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa to the reopening of investigations into the death of Wasim Thajudeen, calling his excitement “suspicious.”
Speaking to reporters, Jayasinghe assured that there is no need for Namal Rajapaksa—or anyone else—to panic, as the government is committed to conducting proper investigations into all crimes, fraud, and corruption, and ensuring that those responsible are brought to justice.
“There are serious doubts about Thajudeen’s death, and for years discussions have surfaced suggesting the Rajapaksa family’s involvement. Investigations are being conducted properly into this matter. Namal must not panic or jump the gun,” he said.
