Australia’s Liberal leader Angus Taylor has ruled out forming an alliance with Pauline Hanson’s One Nation party.

He said One Nation’s policies are not suitable for governing Australia and warned they could damage the economy.

Taylor admitted it was a “heavy-hearted” decision because many One Nation supporters are former Coalition voters.

He stressed that the Liberal Party will focus on rebuilding support with its own policies instead of joining forces.

The move comes as One Nation continues to gain popularity in opinion polls.
