Latest updates on applying for Australia student visa

Starting from 1st of January, Australia has introduced several significant changes to the student visa application process.

In the future, students will no longer be able to submit a “Letter of Offer” as part of their student visa application.

Instead, applicants will be required to submit a Confirmation of Enrollment (COE) in the education course they intend to pursue.

These new rules apply only to student visa applications submitted after January 1, with earlier submissions still accepted with an offer letter.

Applications submitted without a COE will be deemed invalid, and visa officers will not process such applications.

Even if applying on behalf of a spouse, student visa applications without a COE will be rejected, ensuring that only genuine students are admitted.

This change aims to ensure that student visas are granted solely for educational purposes.

However, these new rules do not apply to students involved in security-related student visas or student exchange programs.

The federal government has emphasized the importance of complying with these conditions within the legal framework.

Students whose visas are about to expire and who cannot provide a COE have been advised to switch to another visa category.
