A major stock of narcotics seized during police raids was destroyed yesterday (27) under the supervision of judicial authorities.
The destruction was carried out after the completion of all related court proceedings concerning the seized substances.
The operation took place in the presence of Balapitiya Magistrate Pavithra Sanjeewani Pathirana and Halawatha Magistrate Harsha D. Silva, following the conclusion of cases heard in their respective courts.
Reports state that nearly 302 kilograms of narcotics confiscated during raids conducted by the Police Narcotics Bureau were destroyed at the Lactowatta incinerator in Vanathavilluwa.
