

According to a report by The Sunday Times, Kusal Mendis is likely to be appointed captain of both Sri Lanka’s ODI and T20I teams starting from the upcoming West Indies tour.

The report states that the 31-year-old wicketkeeper-batter is expected to replace Charith Asalanka as ODI captain and Dasun Shanaka as T20I skipper, as Sri Lanka Cricket looks to bring greater stability and direction to its white-ball teams ahead of a demanding international schedule.
Meanwhile, Dhananjaya de Silva is expected to continue as captain of Sri Lanka’s Test side, according to the report.
