King Charles Christmas message features first-ever change

Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III recorded his Christmas message on 11th of December at London’s Fitzrovia Cathedral.

The choice of Fitzrovia Cathedral, a former hospital chapel, is seen as a symbol of the King’s cancer treatment.

This year, the King’s Christmas message will take a different form than the traditional recordings at Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle.

The 76-year-old monarch revealed in February that he was battling cancer and would return to his royal duties in April.

Buckingham Palace commented that the King’s treatment is progressing positively.

Fitzrovia Church, where this year’s Royal Christmas Day message was filmed, was once a hospital chapel before being demolished in 1924.
