
Sri Lanka’s Postal Department is set to launch a new program to transform key post offices into tourist attractions, according to Minister of Mass Media Nalinda Jayatissa.
Speaking in Parliament yesterday, Minister Jayatissa announced that post offices in Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Colombo, and Galle have been selected for this initiative.
Additionally, plans are underway to establish a museum near the main postal headquarters to showcase the country’s postal history.
The minister emphasized that these efforts aim to turn the Postal Department into a profitable entity. He also confirmed that the necessary funds for these projects have been allocated in the 2025 Budget.
