JVP delegation in India for official visit

A delegation from the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), led by General Secretary Tilvin Silva, departed for New Delhi this morning (Feb. 5) for an official visit to India. The visit is reportedly being made at the invitation of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

In addition to New Delhi, the delegation is scheduled to visit the Indian states of Gujarat and Kerala, where they are expected to hold meetings with the respective chief ministers. The itinerary also includes visits to institutions focused on agriculture, industry, and technological development.

Joining Silva on the trip are Janaka Adhikari, General Secretary of the Inter-Company Employees’ Union; MPs Karunananthan Elankumaran and Kittinan Selvarajah; Hemathilaka Gamage from the party’s media unit; and Attorney-at-Law Kalpana Madhubhashini, a member of the JVP’s International Committee.
