Former Minister Johnston Fernando has been appointed as the Operations Head of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), according to SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam.
The decision was taken during a political bureau meeting held yesterday.
In addition, a committee led by former Minister Gamini Lokuge has been tasked with developing criteria for nominating members to local government institutions.
The SLPP has also set up a separate committee to determine the party’s support strategy for forming administrations in local government bodies in the future.
