
A special Japanese delegation met with the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) today (9th of Jul) to discuss opportunities for Sri Lankan workers to receive training in Japan’s forestry industry.
The delegation included the Head of the Public Cooperation Foundation in Ōita, forestry industry leaders, and officials from the IM Japan Colombo office. They held talks with SLBFE General Manager Mr. D.D.P. Senanayake.
Discussions focused on sending Sri Lankan youths to Japan as technical trainees for forestry-related jobs. They also exchanged views on the Japanese pre-immigration training course currently held at the District Vocational Training Center in Tangalle.
Mr. Senanayake expressed his gratitude to the Japanese delegation for creating these training opportunities and assured full support from the SLBFE for the program.
