The Japanese government announced that an assessment team will be dispatched through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to support Sri Lanka’s immediate relief and recovery efforts. The team will include medical officers tasked with evaluating urgent healthcare needs and coordinating the possible deployment of a Japanese disaster relief team.

In addition, Japan will supply essential emergency relief items, including tents, blankets, and other necessities, through JICA to assist families affected by flooding and landslides.
