Japan has awarded a 300-million-yen grant for the Clean Sri Lanka project to support waste management initiatives.
The Ministry of Finance, Planning & Economic Development confirmed that 28 new compactor trucks for waste transportation have been delivered under this project.
These trucks will improve the waste management capacity of local government institutions in the Western, Northern, and Eastern provinces.
The official exchange of letters confirming the grant was signed recently at the Ministry of Finance, formalizing the collaboration between the two nations.
