The Director’s Office of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital has informed MP Ramanathan Archchuna that he will only be permitted to enter the hospital as a patient.
This decision follows a ruling by the Jaffna Magistrate’s Court, which granted Archchuna personal bail of Rs 100,000 yesterday. The court postponed the case to 7th of February 2025.
The court also imposed restrictions on Archchuna, stating that he must obtain prior permission from the hospital administration to enter the premises.
In accordance with this order, the hospital administration clarified that the MP will not be allowed entry for any purpose other than seeking treatment as a patient.
Additionally, the hospital has instructed its security personnel to hand over the MP to the Jaffna Police if he attempts unauthorized entry. Security officers have been directed to carry out this instruction without using force or causing harassment.
