MP Ramanathan Archchuna was arrested by Fort Police this morning (29th) when he arrived at the station to give a statement.
The arrest comes after an incident in which the MP was reportedly seen abusing a police officer at the Fort Police station following his participation in a recent satyagraha in Colombo.
Police confirmed that the arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into the matter.
