Jaffna Airport welcomes first Indigo flight from Tiruchirappalli

The first IndiGo Airlines flight from Tiruchirappalli, India, arrived at Jaffna International Airport on Sunday, 30th of March marking a significant milestone for the region’s air connectivity.

To commemorate the arrival of the inaugural flight, the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL) greeted the aircraft with a traditional water salute.

According to AASL, the new daily direct flights from Tiruchirappalli to Jaffna, launched by IndiGo, have expanded the route map of Jaffna International Airport.

The addition of IndiGo’s daily flights enhances connectivity between northern Sri Lanka and southern India, providing more travel options for passengers.

The arrival of IndiGo’s first flight is a positive development for Jaffna, signaling the airport’s growing importance in regional and international aviation.
