The Israeli Embassy has issued a warning about an ongoing scam targeting Sri Lankan workers in Israel who hold refugee visas.
Scammers are falsely promising legal visas in exchange for money.
Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel, Nimal Bandara, stressed that no such process can occur without the direct involvement of the Embassy.
Reports suggest that the scammers have demanded Rs. 1.5 million from some individuals and have already collected part of the amount as an advance.
The Embassy strongly urges the public not to make any payments to such individuals and to remain cautious of fraudulent schemes.
