The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has extended the deadline for submitting Returns of Income for the 2024/2025 assessment year, following severe disruptions caused by Cyclone Ditwah and adverse weather conditions nationwide.
The original filing deadline of November 30, 2025, could not be met by many taxpayers and their representatives due to these challenges, the IRD noted.
As a result, the department announced that taxpayers who submit their returns on or before December 31, 2025, will not be subjected to penalties, assessments, or criminal proceedings for late filing.
The Commissioner General of Inland Revenue urged all taxpayers who have yet to submit their returns to make use of the extended grace period.
