Iran’s revolutionary guard threatens US universities in the Middle East

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has issued a warning to staff and students of U.S.-affiliated universities in the Middle East following reported U.S.-Israeli airstrikes that damaged two Iranian universities.

In a statement released on Sunday (March 29), the Revolutionary Guard threatened to target U.S. universities in the region unless Washington officially condemns the attacks by noon on March 30, Tehran time.

The statement urged employees, professors, students, and nearby residents to stay at least one kilometer away from such campuses as a precaution.

Several American institutions operate in the Gulf region, including Texas A&M University in Qatar and New York University in the United Arab Emirates.

According to media reports, overnight strikes from Friday to Saturday also hit areas in Tehran, including the University of Science and Technology in the northeast of the capital, damaging buildings but causing no casualties.
