
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the schedule for the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
The 18th edition of the tournament will begin on 22nd of March 2025, and conclude with the final on 25th of May , 2025. A total of 74 matches will be played across 13 venues, including 12 double-headers. Afternoon matches will start at 3:30 PM IST, while evening games will begin at 7:30 PM IST.
The season opener will see defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The first double-header will be on 23rd of March with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) facing Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the afternoon, followed by a high-voltage clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in Chennai.
Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will begin their campaign on 24th of March in Visakhapatnam, while Gujarat Titans (GT) will play their first home game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 25th of March .
Three teams will play home games at multiple venues:
- DC will split their matches between Visakhapatnam and New Delhi.
- RR will play two games in Guwahati before moving to Jaipur.
- PBKS will host four games in New Chandigarh and three in Dharamsala.
The playoffs will take place in Hyderabad and Kolkata. Hyderabad will host Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator on 20th and 21st of May, while Qualifier 2 will be held in Kolkata on May 23. The grand finale of IPL 2025 is scheduled for 25th of May .
