President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has stated that the government has launched investigations into several high-profile cases, including aspects of the Easter Sunday bomb attack probes, where a key investigating officer is currently overseas.
Speaking at the National People’s Power (NPP) Colombo District May Day rally held in Maharagama, the President noted that some of the cases under investigation date back to 2009.
He acknowledged that such investigations would take time but assured that the government remains committed to pursuing them thoroughly.
President Dissanayake further revealed that 15 major cases, including 10 corruption-related cases and five criminal cases involving politicians, are scheduled to be heard in courts this month.
