IndiGo to launch daily direct flights between Trichy & Jaffna

IndiGo has announced the launch of daily direct flights between Tiruchirappalli (Trichy) in Tamil Nadu and Jaffna in northern Sri Lanka, starting from 30th of March 2025.

The new route aims to meet the growing travel demand between the two regions, providing more options for business, leisure, and religious travelers.

Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, expressed excitement about expanding IndiGo’s presence in Sri Lanka with this exclusive Trichy-Jaffna route.

The airline is building on the success of its Chennai-Jaffna service and further strengthening its network in the region.

IndiGo currently operates over 60 weekly flights to Sri Lanka from five Indian cities—Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Tiruchirappalli.

The airline remains committed to providing customers with accessible, affordable, and convenient travel, ensuring an on-time and hassle-free experience.

Jaffna, a city with historical and cultural significance, is known for landmarks such as Jaffna Fort and Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil.

The city attracts visitors with its rich Tamil heritage, vibrant festivals, and unique culinary experiences.

Tiruchirappalli, or Trichy, is a renowned cultural and spiritual hub, home to iconic sites like Rockfort Temple and Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple.

Trichy is also an educational and industrial center, housing institutions like NIT Trichy and a growing manufacturing sector.

The direct flights will enhance travel convenience, promote economic ties, and encourage cultural exchange between the two regions.
