IndiGo Airlines, India’s largest low-cost carrier, has announced plans to launch non-stop flights from Bengaluru to Jaffna.
This marks a strategic expansion beyond Colombo, strengthening air connectivity between South India and Sri Lanka’s Northern Province.
Currently, Jaffna is only connected to Chennai, forcing many travelers to transit through Colombo or Chennai, increasing travel time and costs.
IndiGo’s new service will provide a seamless and time-efficient travel option for business travelers, pilgrims, and leisure passengers.
The airline already operates 54 weekly flights to Sri Lanka, making it the largest foreign carrier in the country.
With Bengaluru as IndiGo’s key hub, the new route will also offer convenient one-stop connections from cities like Hyderabad, Pune, and Delhi.
